Riverwood is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable corporation that is governed by a volunteer board of directors. All Riverwood students are charged a fee for lessons that is discounted in order to make therapeutic riding affordable for our families. The fees charged only cover 30% of our operating costs. Scholarships funds are available to some of our riders based on their need.
In order to meet our operating budget Riverwood must fundraise, through gifts, grants, special events and donations, 70% of our income. Thanks to the wonderful support of many people in the community, we are able to serve as many as 300 students a year and support 10 therapy horses. Donations are extremely important!

SHOW Program
The Southern States SHOW (Special Horse Organization Winner’s) program provides a cash rebate to non-profit horse organizations. Riverwood has benefited from this program for several years, earning as much as $500/year. Here is how you can help: Cut out the proof of purchase seal from your Reliance, Legends or Triple Crown feeds and either mail them to us or give us a call and we will come pick them up. The specialty feeds pay .25 each!
