How to help
Riverwood is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable corporation that is governed
by a volunteer board of directors. All Riverwood students are charged a fee for
lessons that is discounted in order to make therapeutic riding affordable for our
families. The fees charged only cover 30% of our operating costs. A limited number
of need-based scholarships are available.
In order to meet our operating budget, fundraising events, gifts, grants, special
events and donations have to account for 70% of our income. Donations are vital
to our success! Thanks to the wonderful support of this community, we are able to
serve as many as 300 students a year and support 10 therapy horses.
