Riverwood Travels to Lexington for the 2007 TRAV Show

The weekend of October 13 & 14 2007, five Riverwood students, three horses and eight
staff and volunteers traveled to Lexington, VA. Our riders spent the weekend at the 15th annual
Therapeutic Riding Association of Virginia Horse Show. The show hosted over 125 riders along with
their horses, coaches, volunteers and parents. Riverwood has attended this show for the past 6
years and each year continues to amaze us when we watch our students perform. This year, our
students competed in 4 classes each in 3 different divisions. Chris Hamilton and Jillian Rogers
competed in the minimal trot division; Austin Holloway competed in the intermediate trot division;
Liz Baldwin and Moriah Shore competed in the advanced trot division. All riders participated in
trail, pole bending, and equitation and dressage classes.
All of our riders placed well in their classes and the results were as follows:
Minimal Trot Equitation: Jillian Rogers, 4th place
Chris Hamilton, 5th place
Minimal Trot Dressage: Jillian Rogers and Chris Hamilton were awarded participation ribbons
Minimal Trott Trail Class: Chris Hamilton, 1st place
Minimal Trot Pole Bending: Jillian Rogers, 6th place
Intermediate Trot Equitation: Austin Holloway, 4th place
Intermediate Trot Dressage: Austin Holloway, 4th place
Intermediate Trot Trail Class: Austin Holloway, 1st place
Intermediate Pole Bending: Austin Holloway 3rd place
Advanced Trot Equitation: Liz Baldwin 1st place
Moriah Shore, 3rd place
Advanced Trot Dressage: Liz Baldwin 1st place
Moriah Shore, 4th place
Advanced Trot Trail Class: Moriah Shore, 1st place
Liz Baldwin 3rd place
Advanced Trot Pole Bending: Liz Baldwin 2nd place
Moriah Shore, 4th place

We also would like to thank the staff and volunteers who attended and helped make this a special event. Thanks to Susan and Amelia Hubbard, Kyle and Marie Petty, Jane Marvin, Chris Herko, Cindy Martin and Laura Pallavicini. Special thanks, as well, to Steve and Sawyer Hubbard for taking care of the Riverwood barn and horses while we traveled to Virginia!
“Buckets and Bowls” Dinner with Friends
Riverwood will host “Buckets and Bowls” during May and June. During this event, board members
and staff, as well as friends of Riverwood and will host a “Dinner with Friends” to celebrate Riverwood
and spread the word of Riverwood’s work in the community. This event, sponsored by Southern States,
will also raise funds through individual contributions to help feed the Riverwood’s ten therapy horses.
