EAP/EAL Learning Workshop

On June 22, Riverwood welcomed mental and allied health professionals to the farm for an introductory workshop on Equine Assisted Therapies for professionals in health care and education. The workshop was sponsored by Northwest Area Health Education Center (AHEC) of Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Doreen Hughes, MD of Hughes Equine Energy, PLLC and Laura Pallavicini conducted the workshop, with a focus on opportunities for the attendees to experience the power of working with horses while engaging in experiential learning activities. The workshop was a great success, and Riverwood plans to offer additional sessions in the future.
