Able-Bodied and Special Needs Summer Programs
Our summer lesson program is 7 weeks from June 16 through August 1, 2014. Lessons are available to children 3 1/2 and older, as well as adults.
Group Lessons are 1 hour and available for up to 5 riders.
Private Lessons are being offered this year and are available first come, first serve. Private lessons are 30 minutes and are great for riders who are working on independent riding skills, preparing for horse shows, or focusing on acquiring specific skills. Semi-Private lessons (for 2 riders) are available only by special request and as scheduling allows. Cost is $200 per rider for 45 minutes. Due to the limited amount of spots, please email
Riverwood or call the office, (336) 922-6426, to register for a private lesson.
The cost for the 7 week session is $200 for group lessons and $200 for private lessons. The focus of the summer session is to support confidence and balance and give students the opportunity to have fun with horses.
For more information on our summer programs and how to apply, please see the summer registration form
Volunteer Orientation includes learning about the Riverwood mission, a tour of the farm, roles of Leaders, Advanced Leaders and Sidewalkers, as well as barn rules and safety procedures. See the Volunteer Page
for details and more orientation dates.
