Able-Bodied and Special Needs Summer Programs
If ever there was a summer full of memories, smiles and achievements, 2014 Riverwood Summer Riding was it! Over the seven week session, we served more than 150 individuals including groups from the ABC of NC Child Development Center, Camp HOPE in Winston Salem, Veterans from VHVH and many new students from our community. Our riders engaged in theme-based lessons while learning new and different aspects of horses, farm care and riding. The horses, as usual, gave us constant examples of what it truly means to serve without expecting anything in return. Our students made great strides and demonstrated many new and improved skills by the end of the session.
We would like to extend a huge amount of gratitude to our
volunteers who have given countless hours to our students
this summer. Because of these amazing and generous people, we are able to touch many lives.
