Healing with Horses Teen Wellness Program
On Saturday, April 30 from 9am-2pm young men and women ages 13-19 will have a unique opportunity to work with the Riverwood horses. This Equine Facilitated Learning workshop will combine hands-on time with the horses, followed by a personal art experience on the farm. All individuals are welcome; no horse experience necessary. Students will work with horses through the guidance of Laura Pallavicini, Riverwood program director, instructor and equine specialist, and create their own personal photography and journal based on their experience with the horses. Each student will be able to interpret his or her own creativity through the guidance of Amanda Sullivan, counselor and Sawtooth's
Healing and Wellness Through the Arts coordinator. Spots in this workshop are still available; click here to register
Why incorporate horses in a wellness through the arts workshop? Horses allow individuals to be aware of all of his or her abilities, emotions and strengths at once, often mirroring human emotions through touch, breath, and energy. Metaphors learned from interacting with the horses are often relevant to other areas of life.
